$2 million Richard Serra work leads sales on Frieze L.A. VIP day. https://ift.tt/ZduxsSJ

A $2 million Richard Serra drawing led the slate of reported sales from the VIP day of Frieze L.A.’s fifth edition, which opened yesterday. The large-scale drawing was sold by Gladstone Gallery, which also announced the sales of a photograph by Carrie Mae Weems and a painting by Aaron Gilbert for $125,000 apiece.

The fair, which is taking place at the Santa Monica Airport for the second year, saw a star-studded list of attendees turn out on its VIP day. Guests included Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson, Monetta White, Jessica Biel, and Thelma Golden.
