Sullivan+Strumpf inaugurates new studio space in Singapore. https://ift.tt/Al1O0s3

On June 2nd, Sullivan+Strumpf inaugurated its new, intimate studio space in Singapore’s Kallang district. The project space will supplement the gallery’s local and international programming, featuring presentations of works from the gallery’s stockroom or previews for future exhibitions or fair presentations.

The Sullivan+Strumpf Singapore Studio will be inaugurated by a presentation of works by Singapore-based artist Kanchana Gupta ahead of her Australian solo exhibition at Sullivan+Strumpf’s Sydney space on August 15th.

After Gupta’s show, the gallery will show a solo presentation from Spanish painter Carmen Ceniga Prado in September. In addition to the intimate exhibitions, the Studio will host cultural events throughout the year, supporting the growing Singaporean art community. The city’s art scene has been growing in recent years, especially thanks to ART SG, an art fair founded in 2023 by The Art Assembly, building on from the city’s reputation as a global financial hub.

“I am thrilled to build on the Gallery’s outstanding relationships and reputation in Asia and lead the development of new activity on the international stage,” said Megan Arlin, the new space’s director. “Founded in 2005, and fast approaching 20 years as one of the Asia Pacific’s leading contemporary galleries, Sullivan+Strumpf is an integral part of the international arts community.”
