Pilar Corrias Gallery opens new 5,000-square-foot gallery space in Mayfair. https://ift.tt/Se4EiBT

This week, Pilar Corrias Gallery opened the doors on its new flagship space in London’s upscale Mayfair district. Located at 51 Conduit Street, the expansive 5,000-square-foot gallery will replace the gallery’s former location in Fitzrovia, which it opened in 2008. The new space features two floors, with its ground floor space accessible directly from the street. The gallery will also retain its nearby Savile Row space, which is currently showing the work of Chinese artist Cui Jie.

The inaugural exhibition at the new location, which coincides with Frieze Week, will showcase the work of Christina Quarles, who has been represented by the gallery since 2017. Quarles’s new body of work continues her personally-informed practice which builds on her identity as a queer, multiracial woman, featuring seven new paintings on canvas and nine works on paper (a new medium for the artist).
