The citywide event will span multiple venues such as the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Chau Chak Wing Museum at the University of Sydney, White Bay Power Station, Artspace, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.

Additionally, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, a partner for the event, commissioned new work from 14 First Nations artists for the biennial. The First Nations curatorial fellow Tony Albert will work with Manyjilyjarra painter Doreen Chapman, Quandamooka artist Megan Cope, and Mangala Bai Maravi of India’s Baiga tribe, among others, on their projects.

During the event’s opening weekend, artists will present free performances and art activations, including performances from Eric-Paul Riege and Cristina Flores Pescorán. Meanwhile, a series of artist talks will offer guests a chance to hear directly from the artists, who will speak alongside their works.
