Today, Artsy revealed the five finalists for its Foundations Prize Summer 2024: Gabriel Moses, Katherine Qiyu Su, Sarah Cohen, Soetkin Verslype, and Thomas Cameron. Returning for its second edition, the prize celebrates emerging artists showcased at the biannual online fair. The winner will be announced when Foundations Summer 2024 concludes on August 12.
The Artsy Foundations Prize is a biannual accolade that celebrates emerging artists for exceptional contributions to the Foundations art fair. The winner’s work will be featured on a billboard in New York’s Times Square from August 12th to 25th.

- The work of Gabriel Moses is presented in Foundations by Chicago tastemaker Anthony Gallery. Born in 1998, the British photographer is known for his Baroque, figurative works. Moses also produces work as a filmmaker, after making his directorial debut at 18 when he signed on to work with Nike.
- Katherine Qiyu Su lives and works in London, where she graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2023. Her bright, expressive abstract paintings have been the subject of a solo exhibition at Half Gallery and are currently being exhibited by London’s Wilder Gallery in Foundations.

- Sarah Cohen recently completed her MFA at Hunter College in New York City. Her contemplative paintings, featuring the quiet corners of New York and Massachusetts, are being presented by Hyacinth Gallery, which will host the artist’s debut solo exhibition in New York in 2025.
- Soetkin Verslype, whose work is being presented by Ballroom Gallery Brussels, lives and works in Antwerp. Her gouache paintings often depict everyday items in varied vibrant colors, reminiscent of Fauves like Henri Matisse.

- Thomas Cameron graduated from the City and Guilds of London Art School in 2022. His figurative works, featuring pedestrians traversing the bars and streets of unnamed cities, are being shown by Taymour Grahne Projects, which hosted his solo exhibition in London this April.
In its Winter 2023 edition, Artsy selected Savannah Marie Harris as the Foundations Prize winner, featuring her work on a Times Square billboard from February 12th to 25th.
